AttacktiCast #3

Well, I have a new host. Unfortunately, I can only get a grand total of six shows or so before I run out of storage. If anyone has any good places for free audio hosting besides OurMedia, podomatic, and switchpod, let me know.

Anyways, AttacktiCast #3 is FINALLY up. This was recorded on Wednesday with a minor edit done Friday morning, so I'm behind as far as "Attacktix News" goes.

This episode contains my first ever Listener Feedback segment as well as Attacktix News. My main discussion brings closure to my "anti-minor character" views, the figure review is of S2 Starter Set Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the team review is of my "Jedi Council team.

AttacktiCast #3

EDIT: I changed the host, so downloads should be better.

(I got cut off at 17:15 the first time through and don't have time right now to re-download the file.)

Although you didn't mention it in your wrap up, you did announce the Destroyer Droid as a secondary figure that, despite its 40 point cost, is still too powerful. I just wanted to point out that two Destroyer Droids were able to force a standoff between Obi-Wan and Qui-Gonn at the beginning of Episode 1, which is no small feat. While they may be minor characters in the sense of the plot, they were very powerful minor characters.

As far as main characters being powerful characters - let's look at Padme. Certainly she is one of the three main characters of the prequel trilogy, but she's nowhere near being one of the three most powerful characters. If she were to appear in Attacktix as a really powerful figure, I would see that as a problem.

I think you rightly pointed out that background Jedi (even though unnamed) should be powerful, and that is what's represented in the Jedi Knight.

I did miss the end of the podcast, so you may have already mentioned this. However, I think your real concern is with low point figures that end up being too powerful - or getting "too much bang for the buck," especially when multiples of that figure are put into play. This certainly applies to S4 Greedo, as well as the Jedi Knight, Wicket and Gold Ki-Adi-Mundi. And I think that's a legitimate concern, which is why some folks are putting team-building limitations in their tournaments.

minor character arguements. 1 Battle droid's power is quite fitting...10 point weak figure swarming...Look at the gungan battle.
Jedi knights i have to agree (Btw temple guard 10 point jedi shooter (small missle) Recruit 1 jedi 15%.)
DDs I agree with yaggle above. They Held thier own vs. basicaly one of the best jedi knights (obiwan) of all time.
As for padme doesnt fight cept..Once...and she almost got KILLED.
Greedo gotta agree....I mean HE DIDN'T EVEN KILL ANYONE.(on screen)
As for r2-q5+Grevious body guard. You happen to be talking about imo the WORST STRIKER IN THE GAME...I'd be more worried about a 20 speed tusken raider......
Wicket i can see his ability is apropriate.Btw who DOESN'T want to kill an ewok? kidding.
Jedi Best team? It depends on your taste each squad/team/faction is based on playing style.
Obi>vader. "I taught you everything You know...Not everything I KNOW" (pretty sums it up.)
I see this team(jedis) having problems with a Droid team (with ALL those attack backs)
Do You play the redemption ccg grevious?(for getting to know your podcaster)

I think your podcasts are great. Who is your favorite Attacktix figure and your favorite Redwall book?

Hey, Grievous, I think for your next podcast, you could have a Transformers theme. And I know a way with attacking with Omega Sentniel.
